Family Support Services is proud to provide many services to our community including licensing and monitoring foster homes, finding adoptive families for children in care, working with teens to prepare them for adulthood and assisting with preventative services and counseling that help keep children in their homes with their families.

Because we follow a community-based care model, we know that we can’t do it all on our own and need the support of our partners.

We contract with four case management organizations (CMOs) in Northeast Florida that work with the families and become guardians to the youth who have been removed from their homes and are now placed in foster care. These organizations include Daniel Kids, Jewish Family and Community Services, Children’s Home Society and Neighbor to Family.

All of our CMOs employ certified caseworkers who have been trained in family-centered practices and trauma-informed care. Each organization is able to provide a unique set of services to our children and families such as working with large sibling groups and therapeutic or behavioral specialties.

These agencies have strong roots locally, as well as other programs for children, so they have a deep understanding of the needs of our community’s children and families, just like we do at FSS.

In addition to our case management partners, we are grateful for the support of other organizations that are key to our overall success, including those in juvenile justice, mental health, early learning and other youth-focused programs.

Local businesses, churches, corporations and more also help us deliver top-notch services to the children and families that rely on us. Our diverse volunteer Board of Directors represents some of the region’s largest organizations including Regency Centers, Nemours Children’s Hospital, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the Nassau County Commissioner, Rayonier, JTA,  Johnson & Johnson and the University of North Florida.

Whether helping us with donations, grants or sponsorship or hosting community events, our partners are instrumental in the support of our annual programs. Among these partners are Casey Family Programs, Chartwells Dining Services, the City of Jacksonville, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Toys for Tots and Kohl’s Cares, to name a few. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do and make this community-of-care model one of the most successful in the nation.

If your business or organization is interested in partnering with FSS for any of our programs, supporting children in care and families in need, we would love to tell you more about our services and find the best way for you to help. Contact us at community@fssnf.org or call 904-421-5800.
