Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking of Children

Sexual and physical abuse is prevalent yet highly underreported. Join us Wednesday, Jan. 17, to build the knowledge base necessary to recognize and prevent future incidents.
Guest speaker Sgt. Jacob DeVevo with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office will give an overview of JSO’s Special Assault Unit, define laws governing child sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect, discuss the investigative process, define and discuss human trafficking and will cover education, detection and prevention. He will also take questions and provide examples and demonstrations to help the audience understand the process.
